** Former Australian ambulance manager convicted on child porn charges

** 2 US Navy medics attacked, ambulance pelted with rocks during mutual aid response on Guam

AUSTRALIA NEWS

** A post-Easter sentencing has been set for a former Ambulance Victoria division head convicted on child porn charges. The Courier Mail (Meaghan Dillon/March 27) said Zane Dawson, 38, who handled the south-west, pleaded guilty Wednesday to transmitting child pornography material. According to the newspaper, Dawson evaded responsibility for his actions by blaming a fatal school bus crash for triggering his move into the vile. After a police raid on his home following a tip from Dutch authorities in November 2011, his computer’s hard drive was examined. It was found to contain proof he had accessed child abuse related chat rooms over a nine month period. Dawson faces up to a 15 year maximum prison sentence for his deeds.

GUAM NEWS

** A Tuesday night EMS mutual aid response in the Santa Ana neighbourhood ended with a pair of US Navy medics ducking for cover after being attacked by a crowd of yobs. KUAM (March 27) said the call played out quickly when a crowd began pelting the ambulance with rocks. According to the newspaper, the EMS unit’s windshield cracked during the onslaught, while another window on the vehicle was broken. One of the prehospital responders also suffered minor glass cut injuries. After police were hailed, one adult was arrested alongside several minors. There is no word on what motivated the attack.
