UNITED STATES NEWS

** Virginia emergency workers gathered in Fisherville Tuesday to pay respects to Waynesboro EMT Timothy Kyle Southern, 21, who perished Friday after his ambulance hit a cement truck. The News Virginian (Bob Stuart/January 11) said some 30 ambulance companies from the Shenandoah Valley participated in an honor guard to escort Southern’s casket to its resting place at Augusta Memorial Park. Remembered as a caring man towards his colleagues, Southern was spoken of as an individual who had done much good in his life. At the burial site, Southern’s coffin was lowered into the ground to the bagpiped tune of Amazing Grace. Balloons were then released in his memory.
