The San Francisco Examiner (September 5) said the Stows were brought onto the field before the game and sat with Barry Bonds throughout. According to the newspaper, Bonds has made a point of regularly visiting Stow in hospital. He has also assisted in starting a college fund for Stow’s two children. Stow, meanwhile, continues to recover. His family told the newspaper he is fighting two ongoing infections.

** As the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 World Trade Center bombings approaches Sunday, the state of New York has unveiled a September 11 Memorial Flag. The Capitol Confidential (Casey Seilor/September 6) said the banner was presented to the public by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo earlier this week at the State Museum. According to the news site, the flag is intended to fly at the entrance to the World Trade Center museum site. It honors both first responders and civilians killed in the terrorist attacks. The museum is set to open this time next year.
