** New Hampshire medic charged with sexually assaulting patient

** Husband of woman killed in Missouri air ambulance crash files lawsuit against chopper operator

** A New Hampshire paramedic has been charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a patient. WMUR (September 6) said Manchester resident David Powers, 32, allegedly committed the acts on a 19-year-old woman in July. According to the newspaper, Powers attend on the Wal-Mart employee for an undisclosed ailment. He then apparently assaulted her during ambulance transport to hospital. Powers’ next court appearance is in late September. He remains free on a $1,000 bail.

** The husband of a patient killed last month in an air ambulance crash near Mosby, Missouri is suing the helicopter operator. That is the word from the Associated Press (September 2) which said Victor Tacaronte, who lost his wife Terry August 26, is alleging the chopper crew was placed at unnecessary risk by the aircraft flying on low fuel. Tacaronte filed the lawsuit Thursday against Air Methods Corp. of Englewood, Colorado. Along with Terry, flight paramedic Chris Frakes, flight nurse Randy Bever, and pilot James Freudenbert also perished. Aviation officials have not yet determined why the chopper went down. However, in the moments before the crash the pilot did radio that he required fuel.
