** Deceased medic honored by New Hampshire politicians, colleagues

** 2 Chicago people arrested after scrapping with paramedics

** New Hampshire politicians and EMTs honored one of their own Thursday when deceased medic Paul Frontiero III was given a standing ovation in the statehouse in Concord. The Nashua Telegraph (Erin Place/May 11) said the recognition, which was part of the annual Hero Awards ceremony, recognized Frontiero for losing his life while attempting to save that of another. According to the newspaper, Frontiero was stabbed to death on October 9, 2011 when he came between a man threatening two woman outside an area apartment block. Frontiero’s best friend Traci Denver said she was proud of Frontiero for doing the right thing despite the jeopardy he was in.

** A pair of Chicago residents was arrested Friday after getting into an altercation with medics attempting to treat their relative. The Chicago Tribune (Rosemary R. Sobol/May 11) said the 3:15 p.m. incident, which happened in the Gresham neighborhood, played out with a dispute among the patient’s family members spilling over to EMS. There is no word on whether anyone was injured during the scrap.
