** A Kentucky paramedic has been sentenced to two years in the clink for stealing pain meds from her service and then resealing the drug vials with crazy glue. That is the word from WTVQ (May 5) which said former Monticello practitioner Susie Willis, 49, was sentenced last week. Willis admitted to attempting to cover her crime by filling the empty vials with saline.
** A Virginia paramedic who killed the driver of a truck while running a red light has been charged with reckless driving. The News & Advance (Dave Thompson/May 3) said Rustburg resident Justin Kidd, 25, apparently collided with the vehicle when the EMS unit was not lit up or running its sirens. According to the newspaper, Kidd’s dash through the intersection ended with him striking retired Lynchburg firefighter Dean Anders, 69. It remains unclear whether Kidd’s employment with Campbell County EMS remains intact.
