** Former Georgia military medic gets extra jail time for selling information to prison inmates

** Georgia teen indicted for killing combat medic

UNITED STATES NEWS

** A former Atlanta, Georgia military medic will be spending the next year and a half in the clink, after being sentenced for telling inmates to lie to authorities to reduce their sentences. That is the word from AccessNorthGa.com (Katie Highsmith/March 1) which said Sandeo Dyson, 47, was handed the sentence last week. According to the newspaper, Dyson sold the information to criminal defendants about local area crimes. He then coached them on how to talk with both federal agents and the US Attorney’s Office about the same infractions. Dyson had access to the cons because he himself was incarcerated. He was serving time for burning down an Atlanta nightclub five years ago.

** A Georgia grand jury has indicted a 17-year-old teen on charges he killed a combat medic. The Ledger-Enquirer (Alan Riquelmy/February 29) said Jack L. Hughes has been tagged with first-degree vehicular homicide x 5, possession of TFMPP, possession of amphetamine, and possession of Clonazepam. According to the newspaper, Hughes hit a vehicle being driving by medic Sgt. Jerome C. Owens, 39, last June 27. Owens died an hour after the crash in hospital.
