** Manitoba medic still in critical condition after last week ambulance/car crash

UNITED KINGDOM NEWS

** North West Ambulance Service officials in Bolton are investigating after an in-transit ambulance lost a wheel while transporting an elderly patient to hospital. The Bolton News (January 9) said the undated incident played out in front of the patient’s son who was trailing behind the unit in his own vehicle. According to the newspaper, Paul Brady, 45, said he heard a large bang before the tire dislodged. It then rolled in his direction, jumped a car, and came to rest in a nearby garden. Brady’s 81-year-old mother Renee, meanwhile, survived the incident and continues to recover in hospital.
