** Russian policemen pursuing suspect smash into ambulance during high speed chase

** Pennsylvania paramedic charged in hit and run

RUSSIA NEWS

** Two Moscow policemen were hospitalized Monday after crashing into an ambulance while chasing the alleged thief of a fireman’s phone. That is the word from News.am (Interfax/January 3) which said the mishap played out after the supposed robbers stole a Renault Logan to make their getaway. According to the news service, following the crash the car and driver were searched. The phone, however, was nowhere to be found. There is no word on whether or not any EMS personnel were injured in the incident.

** A Folcroft, Pennsylvania paramedic appeared in court Tuesday charged with an early Sunday morning hit and run. MyfoxPhilly (January 3) said Matthew Cooper, 24, told police he thought he might have hit something after he left a party but failed to investigate what. The “what” was John McManus who was the designated driver for his family that night. McManus remains in hospital in critical condition.
