CANADA NEWS

** A Renfrew County, Ontario paramedic has denied in court that he had sexually assaulted a female patient while in the ambulance last year. That is the word from the Ottawa Citizen (Andrew Seymour/September 15) which quoted Shawn Doyle as saying the incident, which allegedly involved fondling the woman’s breasts under her shirt, never happened. According to the newspaper, Doyle said he did not touch the patient’s torso at all except during an abdominal examination. Playing out on April 20, 2010, EMS was hailed to treat the mid-30s aged patient after she collapsed, then complained of suffering a severe headache. Although admitting she could not open her eyes, she told the court she was aware of everything going on around her. Along with claiming Doyle assaulted her, the woman also said he had administered medication to her and placed her in the ambulance feet first. Doyle denied all the allegations.
