** Texas firefighter who plunged to his death at Rangers game was also a paramedic, report says

** Search for missing Saskatchewan paramedic ends with police finding his body

** A firefighter who plummeted to his death last Thursday while trying to catch a baseball at a Texas Rangers game was also a paramedic. That is the word from the Daily Mail (Mark Duell/John Stevens/Rachel Quigley/July 11) which said Shannon Stone, 39, additionally toiled as a rescue technician at the Texas Motor Speedway. Stone, who had been a Brownwood firefighter since 1993, fell 20 ft. from stadium stands in Arlington while attempting to catch a foul ball launched by player Josh Hamilton;he had undertaken the act to impress his accompanying 6-year-old son. Although initially conscious after his plunge, he died some 60 minutes later. A memorial service for Stone took place yesterday.

CANADA NEWS

** Saskatchewan police say they have located the body of a missing Canora paramedic who disappeared last Friday. Global TV BC (July 11) say they found the remains of Byron BJ Chayeski, 38, around 6 p.m. Sunday near Gorlitz. Chayeski was last seen leaving Canora en route to Yorkton. Police say foul play is not suspected.
