** Australian medics endangered by yobs lobbing rocks at ambulance windshields

SYRIA NEWS

** An ambulance attack in the city of Daraa yesterday killed two paramedics, a police officer and a doctor. That is the word from Sky News (David Connolly/March 23) which said the strike during anti regime protests took place around the Omari mosque after six days of unrest. Exact details as to how the deaths transpired have not yet been released. However, according to the newspaper, protesters began gathering at the site Friday, with gangs allegedly stockpiling weapons and using kidnapped children as human shields. Demonstrators are seeking to end the Assad regime;they are demanding the release of thousands of political prisoners, as well as freedom of expression and an end to overbearing security forces.

AUSTRALIA NEWS

** The lives of Alice Springs medics are apparently being placed in danger, after a fourth incident in two weeks in which yobs lobbed a rock at a speeding ambulance’s windshield. ABC News (Amy Marshall/March 23) said the latest prank took place Tuesday and narrowly missed wounding one of the EMS providers. St. John Ambulance Deputy Operations Manager Simon Cooper said is befuddled by the dangerous prank, but added someone could shortly get seriously injured. Saying he would keep his public appeal simple, Cooper merely asked that the culprits cease from lobbing the projectiles.
