** Melbourne medics praise bystander for driving heart attack patient to hospital

** The Paramedic Association of New Brunswick (PANB)  is campaigning to have advanced skills recognized by the province. That is the word from CBC (May 5) which quoted association head Chris Hood as saying failing to do so is negatively impacting patient care. Hood said New Brunswick currently has about 45 advanced medics who can not legally practice at the higher skill level. To assist in their drive for recognition of the training, the PANB is asking the public to sign an online petition at thecareyoudeserve.ca.

After randomly selecting his driver, Minchin barked directions to the hospital and offered cursory driving instructions. He said the man did fine behind the wheel and the patient survived.
