** Could New Jersey police officers soon be transporting gunshot wound and other victims to hospital?

UNITED STATES NEWS

** A new law making its way through the New Jersey legislature could soon see police officers transporting patients to hospital in cruisers. That is the word from New Jersey 101.5 (David Matthau/August 30) which said the so-called “Scoop and Run” law could see first responder trained police officers allowed to transport gunshot wound and other victims. According to the news site, the measure, which has now passed the House,  is aimed at speeding the time to treatment for the victim. The practice is already in use in Philadelphia. The potential law, proposed by Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter (D-Passaic), will be considered by the State Senate this month.
