** Utah state legislator to put forward resolution honoring public safety officers

UNITED STATES NEWS

** Despite the wave of anti-police protests sweeping the nation, at least one state legislator in Utah is doing some push back with a proposed resolution to honor EMS, fire, and law enforcement. KUER (Sonja Hutson/July 21) said Rep. Carl Albrecht (R-Richfield) intends to release the resolution soon, though it is not public yet. According to the news service, the idea of  standing behind public safety personnel is not sitting well with Utah Against Police Brutality organizer Jade Arter. Arter said Albrecht’s resolution is a misguided attempt to defend uniformed personnel who are accused of wrongdoing. Albrecht, however, said while there may be some emergency services personnel who are bad apples, most should be honored for their dignity and bravery.
