** Medic group in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa  refusing to work until they are tested for COVID-19

SOUTH AFRICA NEWS

** A group of paramedic sworking out of a station near Durban are refusing to work EMS unless they get tested for COVID-19. That is the word from GroundUp (Zimbili Vilakazi/June 3) which said the practitioners in KwaMashu, who ceased working on Tuesday,  are being told only those who are symptomatic will receive the vetting. According to the news site, the decision has angered providers, given that a fellow medic who showed no symptoms tested positive for the virus. The National Public Service Workers Union has backed the paramedics’ position. However, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health has not yet responded to the union’s query on the matter.
