** Scottish woman sentenced to two years behind bars for violent attack on medic, police officers

** Two years behind bars is the sentence handed to a Scottish woman who attacked paramedics and police multiple times on two separate occasions. That is the word from The Ely Standard (Ben Jolley/May 15) which said Ely resident Sarah Smith, 27, who has a record of assault, apparently kicked, punched, bit, and spat on emergency providers ten times over two days during hospital transports. According to the newspaper, she  pleaded guilty to the April 2nd and 3rd infractions involving one medic, eight officers, and one police staff member. At the time of the incidents, Smith had just been let out of prison after serving 24 weeks for assaulting hospital personnel and a police officer in the Fall of 2019.
