** UK man given public order to refrain from calling 999 after over 600 bogus help hails

UNITED STATES NEWS

** A bogus 999 help hailer from Southend has been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after calling both EMS and police some 614 times between March 2018 and April 2019. That is the word from The Echo (Sean Davies/February 10) which said David Owen, 60, has now been banned from calling 999 unless it is a genuine emergency. According to the newspaper, Owen dialed the East of England Ambulance Service 132 times, while he pestered Essex police with 482 calls. Along with the above mentioned prohibition, Owen has also been ordered to do 12 months of rehab and to pay 400 pounds to the EMS service in compensation. Owen had already admitted to making use of public communication networks to cause annoyance, inconvenience, or anxiety x 2. There is no word on what the penalty will be if he breaches the CBO.
