** Oregon family sues ambulance service over elderly woman’s fall, death

** An Oregon family from Portland is suing American Medical Response (AMR) Northwest after they claim their 92-year-old relative died after responding medics dropped her on a sidewalk. The Associated Press (November 20) said Ethel Waters died November 13, 2018 after the fall broke six of her ribs and her collarbone. EMS had responded to her home November 2nd for a worsening cough. She spent the 11 days following the fall in both the hospital and hospice care. The suit, which is for $4 million, evoked no explanation from AMR. A spokesman said it is policy not to comment on ongoing litigation.
