** Minnesota paramedic/firefighter shot to death at homeÂ

** A Minnesota paramedic/firefighter from St. Paul is dead after being shot in his home Monday around 8:30 p.m. That is the word from the Associated Press (September 3) which said Thomas Harrigan, 36, died in hospital after taking a bullet in his abdomen. According to the news service, Harrigan had worked as a paramedic/firefighter for the past 6 years and was also a veteran. Colleagues responded to the scene. Police said so far no one has been arrested in relation to the crime. A spokesman, however, said they did not believe the killing was random. Funeral services are pending.
