** Wisconsin paramedic convicted of sexually assaulting female patient; lengthy prison term possible

UNITED STATES NEWS

** A Wisconsin medic from Wausau was convicted Tuesday of sexually assaulting a female patient in 2017. The Wausau Daily Herald (Natalie Brophy/September 17) said Clifford J. Heiser, 34, was found guilty of fourth-degree sexual assault x 2 and misconduct in office x 2. He pleaded no contest to both charges. A plea deal saw another misconduct in office tag and a third-degree sexual assault charge dismissed. According to the newspaper, court heard Heiser touched the woman’s genitals and sucked her breast while in the back of the EMS unit. DNA evidence bolstered the woman’s claims. Following his arrest, Heiser was suspended from his fire department job and quit shortly afterwards. Sentencing has been set for November 26th. He faces up to 8 ½ years behind bars and a 15 year term on the sex offender registry. He remains out on bond pending sentencing.
