** Missing California EMT found dead in hiking area

** A California EMT, who went missing last week while hiking in the Trinity Alps, has been found deceased. That is the word from The North Coast Journal (Kimberly Wear/August 18) which said the remains of Daniel Komins, 34, were located by a chopper crew who spotted a backpack while scouring the area. According to the newspaper, authorities are initially focusing on a fall in rocky terrain as the cause of death. Komins disappeared on August 14th after failing to return from a five day trip. Twelve search and rescue teams took part in the search. Autopsy results and funeral services are pending.
