** Ontario colleagues of murdered EMS dispatcher raising funds for her granddaughter

** Friends and family of a Burlington, Ontario dispatcher, allegedly murdered by her husband last week, are now raising money for a trust fund for her granddaughter. That is the word from CBC (Dan Taekema/August 25) which said the GoFundMe account has collected $9,300 so far in memory of Laura Grant, 57. According to the news site, Grant, who was raising three-year-old Zoe, shared custody with the child’s father. Grant was shot to death at her home August 21st. Her husband Kenneth Soederhuysen, 57, has been charged with first-degree murder. At the time of her death, Grant worked as an ambulance dispatcher in Mississauga. Funeral services are pending.
