** A former combat medic from Leavenworth is dead, after being found unresponsive at her home Thursday. The Journal Star (June 2) said the body of Heather Wunderlich, 35, who had previously served with the Nebraska Army National Guard, was discovered by police after they were hailed to her home. According to the newspaper, Wunderlich, who was also a Bronze Star recipient, lived at the residence with two men. Police say one of the men, who was her boyfriend, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder. The second man has been released from custody without charge. Authorities will not say how Wunderlich died, only noting that foul play is likely involved.
