** UK medic struck off after being convicted on child porn charges

UNITED KINGDOM NEWS

** A Faringdon medic has had his licence to practice revoked after being convicted of having indecent images of children. The Swindon Advertiser (May 26) said the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service (HCPTS) imposed the penalty last week, saying David Willey was no longer fit to practice. Willey, who was sentenced in August 2018 to a 24-month community order, pleaded guilty to making indecent photographs of children x 2 and having prohibited images of children x 1. He was employed with South Central Ambulance Service at the time. The jig was up for him in May of 2017 after a police raid on his home. Following his arrest, he resigned from his job. Willey must remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register until August 2023.
