** UK paramedic set for conduct hearing after allegedly uttering racist remark

** An East of England paramedic is on the hot seat after allegedly making a racist remark to a patient he was tending. EDP 24 (Luke Powell/May 13) said Andrew Roberts is set for a hearing before the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service between May 20th and May 23rd. According to the news site, Roberts allegedly said a patient had DPS or dying **** syndrome, a derogatory comment referring to Asian people. The incident occurred April 30, 2017 during a patient handover. If found guilty of the misconduct, Roberts could see his ability to practice removed or restricted.
