** NYPD cop resigns after refusing to escort EMS to ax murder scene

** An NYPD cop is out of a job after he quit following an incident in which he refused to escort an EMT into the scene of an ax murder. The New York Daily News (Graham Rayman/Erika Martinez/May 2) said Sean Doohan, 26, who was a rookie, turned in his shield April 27th. According to the news site, his resignation came after the April 20th call which resulted in a 4-year-old girl remaining in a bloody apartment for about an hour with the nearly decapitated body of Savannah River, 20. The child’s wounded mother, Angela Valle, who said her daughter was a hostage, had fled the site searching for help. NYPD Housing cops were eventually able to access the property and retrieve the tot. The ax attacker, meanwhile, is believed to have been Valle’s former boyfriend Jerry Brown, 34. He has now been charged with murder, attempted murder, and assault and is currently in jail on Rikers Island.
