** Off-duty California paramedic killed in motorcycle crash

** A California paramedic from Rancho Mirage died while off-duty Monday in a Palm Springs motorcycle accident. That is the word from The Desert Sun (Colin Atagi/March 18) which said Edward Lustro, 34, perished around 8:30 a.m. after colliding with a Honda Sedan. According to the newspaper, Lustro, who worked for American Medical Response, died at the scene. Several colleagues attending the accident saluted the vehicle transporting him from the crash. At least 15 ambulances then formed a procession and followed along behind. Police said the cause of the mishap remains unknown at this point. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors. Funeral services are pending.
