** A Queensland paramedic is dead after an early morning ambulance crash saw the EMS unit roll several times before crashing into a tree. The Daily Mail (Alex Chaptman/January 27) said the 8 a.m. accident occurred as the lone practitioner was en route to a Code I emergency about 20 km west of Mackay. According to the newspaper, resuscitation attempts were tried on-scene but were unsuccessful. At the time of the mishap, heavy rain was hampering visibility, though it is not known if this contributed to the crash. The name of the paramedic, meanwhile, has not yet been released.
