** Irish man knocks paramedic unconscious

** Police in Dublin have charged an area man with a public order offence and assault after he allegedly hit a paramedic trying to help him, knocking the practitioner unconscious Tuesday. That is the word from JOE (Kate DeMolder/July 10) which said the 7:40 a.m. incident on a city bus played out while the medic was treating the man for an undisclosed medical problem. According to the news service, the man was arrested a short time later and transported to the police station. There is no word on his next court date or on any injuries the attending paramedic may have suffered.
