** Australian man found guilty of impersonating paramedic; sentencing tomorrow

AUSTRALIA NEWS

** Sentencing has been set for Friday for a Brisbane man who pleaded guilty to fraud x 2 for impersonating a paramedic. The Daily Mail (Adam McCleery/July 5) said Calvin Jordan Wahlberg, 40, who is a retired naval officer, apparently carried on the ruse for five years. According to the newspaper, Wahlberg earned $550,000 during the time he worked EMS. Wahlberg’s lawyer said his client brandished bogus credentials because it was the only way he could get work. The jig was up in 2015 after Wahlberg applied for membership in the Australian and New Zealand College of Paramedics and his false qualifications were discovered.
