** A Tennessee paramedic from Meigs County is dead after an off-duty tree cutting accident Wednesday saw a part of the tree come down and hit him on the head. That is the word from NewsChannel9 (November 1) which said the provider went into cardiac arrest after the mishap. He was medevaced to Erlanger but passed away shortly afterwards. The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
** A Texas youth from Wichita Falls has been charged with assault public servant after allegedly punching a female medic in the face Tuesday. NewsChannel6 (Samantha Forester/November 2) said Richard Alexander Fuentes, 17, was also tagged with public intoxication. According to the news service, Fuentes attacked the medic as he was being removed from the ambulance at the hospital. After taking the blow, the female fell backwards. Police, who were present at the time, immediately forced Fuentes to the ground and handcuffed him. There is no word on the medic’s injuries. EMS had originally been hailed to treat him around 3:39 a.m. after police found him inside a vehicle drunk and with his feet hanging out the window. He had slurred speech and was unable to stand up straight when removed from the car.
