** Nova Scotia to get two new air ambulance choppers

CANADA NEWS

** Nova Scotia is about to get two new air ambulance helicopters. That is the word from Global News (Heide Pearson/December 8) which said the Sikorsky 76 C+ choppers will come from Canadian Helicopters. According to the news site, the aircraft will be leased and could be in the province by June of next year. The new additions became necessary after an April certification restriction prevented the then current Lifeflight helicopter from landing on hospital rooftop helipads, particularly in heavily populated areas. Since then, Lifeflight has been forced to land on the ground, using regular ambulances to complete patient journeys to hospital.
