** New Hampshire police in Manchester have put out a public call for information after a Saturday incident in which an unknown gunman fired on first responders. Fox25 (WFXT/August 13) said the incident occurred after EMS was hailed to deal with an intoxicated patient. According to the news site, as practitioners were examining the man in the parking lot of an area credit union a shot rang out over their head. Providers and on-scene police immediately ducked for cover and a nearby wooded area was searched to no avail. K-9 officers also failed to find any trace of the shooter.

** City workers in St. Charles County, Missouri had their work cut out for them Thursday after an ambulance responding to an emergency became stuck on an pedestrian bridge. That is the word from QFox13 (CNN Wire/August 12) which said the strange incident saw the workers toil to release the EMS unit from its makeshift vice from 3:30 p.m. until around 6:30 a.m. the next morning. Medics were responding to a woman overcome by the heat at the time.  Ambulance service Asst. Chief Dave Lewis said although the bridge is not built for vehicles, medics have successfully used the route in the past. No one was injured in the incident. There is no word on what damage the vehicle sustained as a result of the mishap.
