** Washington EMT survives motorcycle crash, then doctors find advanced brain tumour

UNITED STATES NEWS

** Paramedics in Guilderland, New York are set to host a blood drive next month in honor of a former colleague who died May 26th in a motorcycle crash. News 10 (Joe Gullo/June 6) said the event will pay tribute to the life of Rich Beebe who was also an EMS educator. According to the news site, a van struck Beebe while he was out on his motorbike. Although he was transported to Albany Medical Center, he died shortly afterwards. At the time of his death, Beebe had worked EMS for 25 years.

** A Tenino, Washington EMT/firefighter may have survived a May 30th motorcycle crash, but he now has a brain tumour discovered after the accident to contend with. KIRO 7 (Alison Grande/June 2) said Kris Gray was unaware of the lesion on his pituitary, only finding out about while in the hospital after his accident. According to the news site, doctors say the tumour is well advanced and Gray should already have experienced debilitating symptoms like tunnel vision and headaches. Although a hard pill to swallow, Gray’s wife says her husband never goes to the doctor willingly. The problem, therefore, might not have been discovered without the bike mishap. Gray works for the Tenino Fire Department. He also works for Tri-Med as both a dispatcher and EMT. Family and friends have set up a GoFundMe account to aid with medical expenses
