** A Salem, New Hampshire EMT will be cooling his heels for the next 3 years in jail after being convicted on child porn charges. The Union Leader (James A. Kimble/June 3) said Matthew Castricone, 27, allegedly used both the Dark Web and an encrypted site to feed his perversion. According to the newspaper, the last Tuesday sentence will see him begin serving his time on July 25th. Castricone was arrested October 15th after the FBI began investigating an online bulletin board. As a result of his arrest, Castricone no longer works in EMS. Following his prison release, he will be under an ongoing internet use ban.
** A Missouri medic narrowly escaped serious injury Thursday when she fell asleep at the wheel while transporting a patient. KFVS (Alycia Dobrinik/June 3) said St. Charles County resident Samantha Sniadecki, 21, was behind the wheel of the EMS unit around 2 a.m. when the rig veered off the road and then back on before overturning. Three people, including Sniadecki, were transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries. A Cape County Private Ambulance Service spokesman declined to comment on the matter.
