** Scottish man jailed after spitting on paramedic, threatening to kill nurse

** A Scottish man will spend the next 8 months in jail after spitting on and verbally abusing a paramedic attempting to help him. That is the word from STV News (May 2) which said James Ritchie, 21, was sentenced Monday after admitting guilt to a variety of assault tags, as well as ones for threatening behaviour and racist abuse. According to the news site, Ritchie became aggressive after EMS and police were hailed for an intoxicated male in Perth. Flashing his swastika tattoo at responders, he continued his tirade by shouting and swearing. Once at hospital, he also then spat in the face of a receiving nurse, threatening to stab her. Sheriff William Wood, who passed sentence on Ritchie, said the incident was particularly despicable because responders were attempting to help him.
