** Welsh Ambulance Service brass have identified the medic killed in a Thursday collision of two EMS units as John Clift. The Daily Post (Tom Davidson/April 29) said Clift, from Pwllheli, was behind the wheel of a transfer unit when it hit an emergency ambulance. According to the news site, no explanation has yet been offered for the collision. The A499 section on which the accident happened was closed for six hours. Three other people in the ambulance were also seriously injured. They remain in a hospital in Bangor. There is no word on the extent of their injuries.

** An Ohio EMT, accused of sexually assaulting a woman in his ambulance, has pleaded not guilty. That is the word from WDTN (April 28) which said Springfield resident Sam Conkel appeared in court Thursday. According to the news site, the woman alleged Conkel attacked her while en route to a nursing home during a medical transport. He has been charged with sexual battery and gross sexual imposition. Bond has been set at $15,000. Conkel is also under a no contact order with the woman. No information has been released about his next court date.
