UNITED KINGDOM NEWS

** May 26th has been set as the next court date for a Northampton paramedic convicted of giving false information to obtain a prescription for medication. That is the word from The Northampton Chronicle and Echo (Nick Spoors/April 26) which said Andrew Mills, 29, admitted Monday to the second of the two crimes which occurred on September 21, 2014 and October 11, 2015 respectively. He denied, however, the 2014 charge of obtaining prescription painkillers from his partner who was recovering from an MVA. Mills also said he never used a false name in either instance. A spokesman for the East Midlands Ambulance Service said Mills is no longer an employee.

UNITED STATES NEWS

** Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials are investigating after a Monday mishap in Houston in which an air ambulance made a hard landing in a field shortly after take-off. The Houston Chronicle (Dale Lezon/April 26) said the incident, which occurred around 6:45 p.m., took place just as the chopper left the helipad at Memorial Hermann City Medical Center. According to the newspaper, the problem appears to have stemmed from a faulty tail rotor. There were no patients on board at the time. The pilot, paramedic, and flight nurse were uninjured.
