** Drug trial continues for New Hampshire paramedic/firefighter accused of stealing meds

UNITED STATES NEWS

** Trial proceedings for a New Hampshire paramedic accused of stealing drugs for self use from the hospital where he worked are expected to conclude this week. That is the word from Fosters.com (Liz Markhlevskaya/March 18) which said Rochester resident Donald Penney, 50, faces 29 felony tags involving the theft of both fentanyl and hydromorphone. According to the news site, Penney also allegedly doctored patient records to cover up the thefts at Frisbie Memorial Hospital between April 2013 and August 2013. Attorneys for Penney deny the charges, claiming poor record keeping and ill relations with nurses have fueled the accusations. Penney was fired in August 2013 after the allegations surfaced. He had worked at the hospital for 20 years at the time of his termination.
