** Trial proceedings have begun for a Cumbria man accused of killing a retired paramedic. The North
West Evening Mail (January 25) said Arkleby resident Michael Andrew Sanderson, 31, stands
accused of murder in the May 31, 2015 death of Terence Edward Taylor outside Cockermouth’s
The Globe Hotel. According to the newspaper, Taylor died of a brain haemorrhage and was
pronounced dead at Whitehaven’s West Cumberland Hospital. Both men were part of a group
who had visited various pubs that night. Sanderson has denied attacking Taylor. There is
no word on the expected duration of the trial.
