** North Carolina police in Greensboro are investigating a Sunday incident in which an unknown
gunman fired 2 shots into an EMS unit, breaking the rear window. Fox 8
(Jasmine Spencer/November 2) said the incident occurred in the night time hours as medics
were responding to a chest pain call. According to the news site, shots rang out after the
patient was secured inside the prehospital rig. No one was injured in the incident. Guilford
County EMS spokesman Chris Wilson said police remain uncertain whether the attack was
random or targeted.
** A Texas man from Wichita Falls has been charged with assault on a public servant after he
allegedly attacked an American Medical Response medic attempting to treat him Friday.
The Times Record News (November 2) said Keeton Dozier has since been released on a
$10,000 bail. According to the newspaper, Dozier apparently let loose with his fists while in the
lobby of a Quality Inn Motel. He had gone there after an 11 p.m. MVA a few blocks away.
A police officer hailed EMS after finding Dozier with a head wound and appearing drunk.
Once the medic attempted to render care, however, Dozier became belligerent, threw his
shirt at him, and then punched the practitioner in the face. There is no word on whether or
not the provider sustained any injuries in the incident.
