** New Jersey EMT arrested for allegedly molesting female teen
** Detroit man charged in October attacks on EMTs appears at preliminary hearing

** New Jersey police in New Milford have arrested an EMT for allegedly sexually abusing a
female teenager. PIX11 (Jeremy Tanner/November 30) said married practitioner Peter Mitchell,
44, has been charged with sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, and endangering the
welfare of a child. According to the newspaper, police became involved after a 16-year-old
acquaintance of Mitchell’s claimed he had been molesting her for some 3 years since she was 13.
Arraignment is pending. In the meantime, Mitchell remains in jail after being unable to post a
$200,000 bail.
** A preliminary examination in court took place yesterday for a Detroit, Michigan man accused of
attacking a pair of EMTs with a box cutter October 20th. The Detroit Free Press
(Elisha Anderson/November 30) said lawyers for Michael Montgomery, 30, also dealt with
crimes dating back some 10 years. According to the newspaper, tags attached to him so far include
the murder of a 16-year-old girl and the kidnapping, sexual assault, and torture of a 33-year-old
woman. Both crimes occurred over a 2 week period in late 2005, early 2006. Neither
matter was moved forward until Montgomery was finally apprehended for the attacks on medics
Alfredo Rojas and Kelly Adams. The case has seen additional charges added to proceedings against
him, including assault with intent to murder x 2, assault to do great bodily harm x 2, and resisting
and obstructing, causing serious injury. DNA evidence in the 2006 cases linked Montgomery to the
incidents.
