** A US Army combat medic stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii was arrested Wednesday for conspiring
to murder his wife. The New York Post (AP/November 5) said the FBI took Sgt. Michael Walker into
custody for the death of Catherine Walker who was stabbed to death November 14, 2015 in her
home. According to the newspaper, a federal grand jury indicted Walker, saying he conspired with
lover Alisa Jackson to kill Catherine. Police believe Jackson entered the Walker home around
midnight with a key provided to her by Michael Walker. She then attacked and killed Catherine
while she slept in what was supposed to have looked like a robbery gone bad. Jackson was arrested
in April of this year and extradited from Indiana back to Honolulu. Walker, meanwhile, had been
working out of Tripler Medical Center at the time of his wife’s death. He had previously served two
tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.
** A North Carolina National Guard combat medic from Charlotte continues to recover in hospital
after exchanging gunfire with 2 home invaders while she was nursing her 4 month old baby Tuesday.
WSOC TV (November 4) said Samantha Bruce, 21, suffered 2 gunshot wounds in the incident which
began after the shooters kicked down her front door. According to the news station, the pair fled after
Bruce returned fire when they let loose with the bullets while in the home’s stairwell. Bruce has
already undergone surgery once and may need another round. The intruders remain on the loose.
Police continue to investigate.
