That is the word from the Associated Press (July 22) which said Indiana resident Travis Turner, 26, was charged Wednesday after authorities logged his 63rd bogus 911 call in three years. ** A former US Army combat medic from Georgia, who died in 2007 in Afghanistan, will have his name placed on an Army Reserve Center. The Telegraph (Wayne Crenshaw/July 21) said the site in Warner Robbins will bear the moniker of Army Spc. Daniel E. Gomez. Gomez died July 18, 2007 after being attacked while driving in a military vehicle. The dedication of the center will take place August 1st at which time the community will also recognize a special day in Gomez’ honor. The reserve center is home to the 361st Engineer Company which specializes in building bridges in combat zones. Several of those serving with the unit went to school with Gomez.
