** A Kidwelly man, who himself had recently been a victim of a violent attack, has been jailed for 16 weeks for being abusive to responding paramedics and police officers. That is the word from the Llanelli Star (May 13) which said Stephen Howard Roberts, 30, was sent packing by a judge this week after being convicted on charges including using threatening and abusive words and behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and resisting a police officer. According to the newspaper, Roberts shouted and swore at paramedics April 10th after they were called to treat him for a head wound. After exiting the ambulance, he kicked and lunged at a police officer who managed to then restrain him. He continued shouting and making a public nuisance of himself at the hospital. Roberts’ counsel said he has no recollection of the incident in which he was also intoxicated. Along with the jail time, he has been tasked with paying an 80 pound fine.
