** New York woman gets off easy after wrong way drunk driving crash results in ambulance accident

** A Staten Island, New York woman has been handed only a one year conditional discharge and a $500 fine
after driving drunk on the wrong side of the street and slamming into an ambulance this past May. The Staten
Island Advance (Frank Donnelly/October 28) said Rebecca Cassiliano, 58, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanuor
count of driving while intoxicated. According to the newspaper, Cassiliano’s blood alcohol level after the
 smash-up was .192. The legal limit is .08. Following the 10 p.m. May 27th accident, in which no one was
injured,  police said she sported alcohol tinged breath, watery eyes, and an unsteady gait. Along with the
above mentioned penalties, Cassiliano’s driver’s licence was suspended for six months and she has been
ordered to participate in a drunk driving prevention program.
