** A West Virginia man faces a slew of charges after attacking paramedics Wednesday when they revived him with Narcan. That is the word from WTOV 9 (September 3) which said Steubenville resident Scott Gill, who was found unconscious on some railway tracks, fled the scene shortly after the assault. Neither medic involved was seriously injured. According to the news site, he was apprehended following a 2 hour manhunt and remains in Jefferson County Jail pending charges. Police said at the very least battery tags will be leveled against him.
** Bail has yet to be set for a Plant City, Florida paramedic arrested and charged with assaulting his wife. The Tampa Tribune (September 2) said EMT/firefighter Lance Robert Borges, 43, was taken into custody Monday. According to the newspaper, Borges, who has worked fire-rescue for the past 11 years, allegedly attacked his wife while the two were in their vehicle in their driveway. He then apparently dragged her from the car with his hands around her neck. An internal investigation is now pending at Borge’s job to determine whether disciplinary action will be taken.
