** A New York man has been charged with felony criminal mischief after he allegedly threw a crowbar at an ambulance last Wednesday. CBS 6 Albany (May 15) said Schuylerville resident Robert Dougal, 61, was arrested after tossing the implement at medics who he believed had run over his organic garden. According to the news service, Dougal admitted to throwing something, but said it was crescent wrench. He also said he didn’t think the tool had hit the EMS unit. Transported to hospital for evaluation, he has since been released.
** A Fire Department of New York (FDNY) EMT has been released into the custody of his parents after being charged with drug possession and sale charges. The New York Daily News (Tobias Salinger/Barry Paddock/May 17) said Joseph Meyer, 25, was arraigned Saturday. Police say he sold heroin on four separate occasions and oxycontin once. Although prosecutors wanted a $10,000 bail, the judge tasked Meyer’s parents with overseeing him. Meyer’s mother is an NYPD lieutenant and his father is an FDNY lieutenant. Meyer, meanwhile, has been suspended for one month without pay. He was arrested Thursday along with friend and former substitute teacher Lisa Testa.
