** A Georgia EMT is dead after an early morning crash Friday saw him lose control of his pickup truck. AccessNorthGeorgia.com (February 14) said Elbert County EMS medic Bradley Eavenson, 31, died around 1 a.m. after being ejected from his vehicle. According to the news site, Eavenson was not belted in at the time. Police say weather was not a factor in the crash. Along with his part time EMT work, Eavenson had also worked as a firefighter. Funeral services took place yesterday.
** Friends and colleagues of an Indianapolis paramedic pair, killed one year ago in an ambulance crash, gathered Sunday to mark the one year anniversary. Fox59 (Liz Gelardi/February 17) said some 100 people congregated at the intersection where the accident occurred to conduct a vigil to remember Timothy McCormick, 24, and Cody Medley, 22. Indianapolis EMS Chief Dr. Charles Miramonti said both men were decent people who cared about others. By way of remembrance, the men’s service has established a scholarship fund. The person who hit the ambulance that night, meanwhile, was never charged due to lack of evidence.
